I need some advice! Well I am a female, age 25, want to study at an italian university...I want to study at LABA. Never finished Uni...did about two years, three years ago...did a study abroad too last year. Now I want to seriously finish my degree. I know as a foreigner I cannot directly apply to the university. How easy is it or hard is it to get accepted to an Italian university as a forgeigner?!??? I speak very well Italian...taking non-credit italian languages now to freshen up a bit. Any adive please! I am very stressed out as I really want to start a career and I don't want to finish uni here in the states Thanks.
the universitys here in florence usually start in september so you'll now have to work on getting enrolled for next year - which gives you a bit of time to get organised
it's a good thing you speak a bit of italian, because there's a good chance you'll have to set a 'CILS' exam in order to enter uni; that being an 'esame di stato' or a language exam which usually has to be set by foreigners applying to uni, not already on an exchange scheme (ie, erasmus).
The exam is set every 6 months, and you have to apply 40 days in advanced.. you'll now have to aplly for the exam in june.
check out http://www.unistrasi.it/pages/ENG/homeENG.htm which will get you signed uo for the exam, and you can set the exam here in florence - also ask your uni if they hold the CILS exam as you might be able to set it at home.
next step is enrolling at the uni.. seeing as you've already started you course, i don't see how you'll now be able to pick up the same one here, as for sure the exam boards will be different and your past exmas and results might not be valid here.. but that's not to say it's not possible!! first thing, ask your tutor; your student advisor should be able to help! if not, ask directly at the uni here http://www.laba.biz/index_eng.html the address above wil give you the contact details at LABA, who should be able to help you out
good luck! and don't stress - everything will work out - and you'll have such a great time!
